November 15, 2023: To strengthen its grassroots presence and promote its mission and values, Independent Redress Mechanism, Green Climate Fund (IRM) in 2023 launched an advocacy grant for Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), inviting them to collaborate with the IRM on communication and outreach efforts aimed at engaging key audiences. June 23, 2022 – July 23, 2023: As part of Chemichemi Foundation’s goal to promote sustainable development and mainstream climate change, we collaborated with the Nuts and oil crops Directorate to support and provide the Nchiru Self-Help Group for Disability, Meru County, with 40kg (approximately 7,000) macadamia seedlings.
On December 31, 2021, Chemichemi Foundation supported the Nchiru Self Help Group for Persons with Disabilities and the East Kabras Women and Girls with Disabilities Grassroot Organization with solar lanterns to enhance the uptake of renewable energy within the members of the groups. The project was to promote the uptake of solar lighting.
September 2021: Chemichemi Foundation collaborated with the Nchiru Self-Help Group for Disability to provide the group water resources. The overreaching goal was to realize our impact strategy on economic empowerment as well as eradicate water scarcity due to climatic variations. Importantly support the realization of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) to enhance water access that will enable the group plant fruit trees for both food security as they advance climate governance.
